How to fix a defect on-off steam valve?

a. Pneumatic pressure too low

To do:

1. Check pneumatic pressure supply
2. Supplied pneumatic pressure must be 4 – 6 bar

b. Solenoid valve defective

To do:

1. Check that the solenoid valve functions, by activating manual override, and checking if air is released when valve is opened/closed
2. If not, follow procedure for solenoid valve defective (“How to fix a defect solenoid valve?“)

c. Actuator defective

To do:

1. Dismount from ball valve
2. Check if it functions when counter pressure is removed
3. Repair or replace actuator.

d. Ball valve defective

To do:

1. Check that ball-valve can be manually opened when actuator is dismounted
2. Clean valve
3. Replace if cleaning is not enough to restore function

How to fix a defect solenoid valve?

a. Valve defective

To do:

1. Check if valve is defective by activating manual override
2. Clean valve
3. Replace if cleaning is not enough to restore function

b. Solenoid defective

To do:

1. Check electrical signal
2. If electrical signal is ok, then replace solenoid.

c. Electrical signal missing

To do:

1. Check control box, according to electrical diagram in appendix 8.3 to locate error
2. Replace defective fuse, electrical component or wire.

Why is the steam pressure zero?

a. On-off valve defective

To do:

1. Check movement of actuator on-off valve (SV).
2. Manually open the valve or see if it opens in maintenance mode from the HMI.
3. Replace if actuator not working

b. Solenoid Valve defective on SV

To do:

1. Check if valve is defective by activating manual override.
2. Check electrical signal.
3. Check control box, according to electrical diagram.
4. Replace defective fuse, electrical component or wire.
5. If electrical signal is ok, then replace solenoid.
